Humic Acid Humates Application for Lawns

Humic acid Humates is a commonly used soil conditioner on lawns to improve the microenvironment of clay and sandy soils in lawns. It can provide a good growth environment for beneficial soil microorganisms, help improve soil biodiversity, and provide a good foundation for the healthy growth of lawns.

By adding humic acid directly to soil, you can quickly improve many aspects of soil health and the health of grasses, plants and crops that grow in that soil.

humic acid humates for lawn
  1. Improves soil structure – helps soil become softer and easier for roots to grow.
  2. Neutralizes acidic and alkaline soils to a pH near 7 (the optimum pH for grass is about 6).
  3. Optimizes turfgrass uptake of nutrients and water.
  4. Create a good growth environment for soil beneficial microorganisms.
  5. Increase plant stress resistance, including adaptability to adverse environmental conditions such as cold resistance, frost resistance, drought resistance, and waterlogging resistance.
  6. Increase the immunity of the lawn and reduce the damage of pests and diseases.

When to Use Humates on Lawns

Use humates during the lawn’s growing season, preferably in spring or fall.

1) When crops are deficient in nutrients: When crops suffer from nutrient deficiencies, the physiology and metabolism of plants are greatly affected. Spraying humic acid foliar fertilizers can activate metal cations such as iron, manganese, zinc and copper. In order to improve the utilization rate of chemical fertilizers and promote nutrient absorption, the symptoms of nutrient deficiency can be quickly relieved and normal development can be restored.

2) When soil pH is out of balance: Soil acidity that is too high or too low is not conducive to crop growth. When the soil pH is less than 5.0 or greater than 9.0, the vitality of crop roots will be reduced, and the ability to absorb nutrients will be poor, which is likely to lead to nutrient deficiency. At this time, spraying water-soluble fertilizers containing humic acid can greatly alleviate the nutrient deficiency of crops caused by the weak absorption function of the root system and prevent the lawn from wilting.

3) When the soil is dry or flooded: When the soil is dry or waterlogged, the root system of crops becomes fragile and physiological obstacles occur, resulting in reduced absorption capacity. Spraying humic acid foliar fertilizer can inhibit transpiration, reduce water loss and improve drought resistance. It promotes root development, restores root vitality, and improves root absorption.
