Trichoderma harzianum on Strawberry Field Trial

We cooperate with local growers to apply Trichoderma harzianum on Strawberry. With the adjustment of agricultural planting structure, especially greenhouse planting in winter, the pests and diseases of strawberries have aggravated. Strawberry growers generally reflect the severe phenomenon of strawberry death after planting.

Trichoderma harzianum on strawberry

1.Continuous Cropping

Continuous cropping is a problem for strawberries, and growers know it. So they use a lot of chemicals to treat the soil every year. At the same time, the beneficial organisms in the soil also are killed. It leads to the situation that Strawberry’s roots could not adapt quickly, even seedlings death.

2.Fertilization

If raw manure and green organic manure are applied, and a large amount of water poured after planting, it will lead to seedling/root burnt. Therefore, it is necessary to apply decomposed organic fertilizers as well as watering in advance. It is advisable to use Microbes fertilizer when watering and to improve the soil to create a healthy environment suitable for the growth of strawberry roots.

3.Watering

When planting, it is necessary to pouring Small waterplane(forbid flood irrigation) and so as not to harm the root system.

Trichoderma harzianum on Strawberry

1. Before Planting

Dilute 20 times of T. harzianum to dip roots, 15kg/ha, and do not dip roots under high temperature and intense light. It’s recommended to sow after drying the root to protect the roots from bacteria and stimulate the growth of the roots of the strawberry.

2. During Planting

When planting, use a hole, or mix with organic fertilizers, etc., spread and deep-dip, and use 30-45kg T. harzianum each hectare. It’s recommended to keep the soil moist after use so that the bacteria can germinate better. To kill soil pathogens and balance the soil micro-ecological structure, to achieve the role of promoting crop growth.

3. After Planting

Dilute 300 times of Trichoderma harzianum after planting 7-10 days, and can be applied by watering roots or drip irrigation to supplement the number of bacteria to achieve the best state of the bacteria.

The above methods all can prevent problems such as strawberry death, weak seedlings, and continuous cropping, which are usually occur in the strawberry planting at the seedling stage.

At the same time, they can improve the resistance ability, increase growth, promote the quality and yield of strawberry in the later period.

Effects of T. harzianum on Strawberry

1. Root Growth

After applying Trichoderma harzianum (Dora Rootguard), the roots of the treatment group grow rapidly, the roots were robust, and other pathogenic infections were effectively in control. In the control group, the rooting rate of the plants was slow, the roots were weak, and they were susceptible to other pathogens infection.

2. Diseases Prevention & Control

Powdery mildew is a common disease in strawberry cultivation. Spots of varying sizes appear on the leaves of strawberry plants. The back of the leaves forms a layer of white powder, and the leaf margins are atrophic. In severe cases, the leaves will dry, and the young fruit will dry out. It will seriously affect the yield and quality of the strawberries. The customer used Trichoderma harzianum to dilute it 100 times and sprayed on leaves. After 12 hours of use, it showed control effects. The white powder fell off, and the leaves spread out. The plants grew well.

3. Promote Growth

The stolon is a vital vegetative organ of Strawberry. After using the Trichoderma harzianum, the plant grows quickly, and the stolon is more robust, providing more seedlings for late cutting. Dora Root guard is very useful in promoting the growth of strawberries!
