Even the addition of exogenous ethylene cannot affect the quality of banana fruits after 1-MCP treatment.

When stored at 20°C, the soluble solid content in the pulp tends to rise rapidly. In the first 4 days, the difference between the soluble solid content of the control fruit and the 1-MCP-treated fruit was not significant. Then on the 12th day, the soluble solid content in the control banana pulp was 4.6 times that before storage.

Compared with the control group, the value of the soluble solid treated with 1-MCP was significantly lower.

2. Effect of 1-MCP on the change of banana fruit hardness

When stored at 20°C, the firmness of the fruit showed a rapid decline. Before the fourth day, the difference in the firmness of the two groups of fruits was not significant. After that, the fruit firmness of the control banana decreased faster. When stored for 16 days, the control banana The firmness of the pulp dropped rapidly from 45.9N/cm to 0.98N/cm., a drop of 97.87.

During the same period, the firmness of the 1-MCP-treated fruit was slowly decreasing. The firmness of the fruit was 36.1N/cm when stored for 16 days. The hardness of the control fruit is 37 times, the difference between the two is extremely obvious.

This shows that the 1-MCP treatment significantly inhibited the decrease in fruit firmness during the late storage period.
